A Teacher in the Making

13 year-old Mebra is in no way a typical teenager. While she enjoys playing with her friends, when asked what her favorite thing to do in her free time she replies, “Studying!” with a huge smile.

For a girl who wants to be a teacher, studying is a perfect pastime. Mebra loves to participate in debate. Before coming to the [SOUP] school she was not involved in any co-curricular activities that would challenge her. Now she feels like when she goes home at the end of a long school day she is someone her siblings look up to.

It is evident that going to school has instilled a great sense of self worth in such bright child. Because of our generous donors, Mebra is able to gain confidence and experience that can help make her dream a reality. Thank you!
